Description:
Beauty and the Beast: The Plana is a treat for the eyes, but a monster to type with. Its action is heavy and cumbersome, and although I believe that I can tweak it for better performance, it will never be anything like the SF models that replaced it.
Perhaps the most surprising thing about this ultra-portable is its weight. It feels like it was chiseled from a solid block of lead, or recycled from the frontal armour of a King Tiger, which could actually be a possibility.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia Plana on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia Plana By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
