1950 IBM Model A Executive Serial # 14-009291 1950 IBM Model A Executive typewriter, Serial # 14-009291 William Saxbe's 1950 IBM Model A Executive typewriter. 2023-10-11 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of William Saxbe: 1950 IBM Model A Executive Serial # 14-009291 Functional but rough, will need a good clean and potentially a donor power roll from my other model A. Spacebar linkages aren't currently functional, but escapement, and more importantly, proportional mechanisms working. IBM's Modern typeface. Plan is to repair mechanism here and transplant the '49 chrome model A's power supply and working motor, and it's awesome body panels plus all of the '51's rubber bits (and power cord too actually). The '51 also has some nicer fasteners, these cool hexagonal foot extenders, a few keys with better letter definition, and both protective bottom panels.
