Description:
Found from a local garage sale in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was stored in the garage by the original owner's granddaughter. It required only minimal cleaning and adjustments. The case smelled strongly of mildew, which was cleaned with Simple Green and a power drill brush. The internals were cleaned with NAPTHA, and the paint was solid from the beginning. Minimal rust on the case hardware, which was cleaned with rust remover and a toothbrush.
The platen was quite hard to begin with, around 100 on the Shore A hardness scale, though it would feed two sheets reliably. The platen was cleaned and treated with methyl salicylate, which brought the hardness down to about 92, and has remained at that hardness for several months.

A new collector and restorer of vintage typewriters based in Albuquerque. I have Violet Evergarden to blame for this addiction.
