Description:
First find upon moving to CT, same machine as my very first typewriter in 1995, except in Pica rather than Elite. Fantastic condition - looks like the platen was replaced just before the machine was stuck in a closet to later be obtained in a cleanout and sold to me for 10x the $4.95 price I got the first one for. Screamin' deal! :D

I am a scoundrel without a cause, and my swank outshines the sun.
I am a casual Typewriter Hunter residing in some liminal transitional spacetime between my lifetime in Arizona to the New World of PROBABLY Conneticut with a wife, two cats and about 50 typewriters. My main hunting ground is thrift stores, and I rarely pay more than $10 for a machine. My collection consists mainly of portables with cases, and they stay in the cases unless I am actively using it (usually more than one at a time). I do, however keep a handful of interesting Selectrics, including a Composer.
(frankly, I'm not going to change my avatar background because CT's flag is lame.)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Quiet De Luxe on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Quiet De Luxe By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
