Description:
#1122. Got this from Goodwill. From the looks of the serial number plate, I would say that someone painted this after the factory. There are also some strange fingerprints on top, like it was touched when wet (or could be mine from the chemicals to clean the serial number plate). I've said it before, but I have a soft spot for the Royal typewriters. Other than the paintjob, this one seems to be in pretty good shape.

I started my collection back in 2017 when I found a 1993 Brother WP-1250, which was very close to the typewriter I owned and used to write letters home while I was stationed in Korea serving in the US Air Force (I later discovered it was most likely the Brother WP-1150, so I picked that up). In 2018, my wife took me to one of the local antique store and I saw an old typewriter that caught my eye. My wife purchased it for me for Christmas (a 1932 Royal 10). My wife and I decided to limit my collection to 5 typewriters, so I need to sell off my surplus.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal KMM on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal KMM By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
