Description:
This machine came to me in fairly good aesthetic condition. It has issues with the margin set and release/reset, sticky keys missing rubber foot, character alignment and rubber/plation work needing to be done. I cleaned it the best I could and reset the margins by taking off the cover and moving them manually with my hand. It seems to type ok although the strikes are dirty. This will need a good serving and some parts. No case for this machine as it is a desk top and I think that I would like to find a case for it mainly for storage when it is not out on "display". I am considering a paint job on this one as it has the black keys (not the green I often see). Would look cool in RED or TURQUOISE. (Canadian)

Novice typewriter enthusiast. My first experience with a typewriter was with my grandma and her letting me type away on hers for hours without a single complaint (she was an angel). My love for vintage fountain pens, my favourite grandma and an appreciation for practical antiques/art has brought me here. One of the most rewarding thing so far about this hobby has been the very interesting and wonderfully helpful I've been introduced to.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington 17 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington 17 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
