Description:
Queen of Hearts with an ace up her sleeve! ♦ï¸â™£ï¸â™¥ï¸â™ ï¸
1946 Olivetti MP1 'Ico' with playing card keys, Olivetti Elite type and Danish Layout. Qq and Øø keys were at some point replaced with slugs bearing the French suits: diamonds, clovers, hearts, and spades.
I'm very curious to hear your ideas about what it might have been used for back in the day. This machine was originally Made in Italy, sold by a retailer in Denmark, made it's way to Germany and eventually to me in Finland. Update: A user on Reddit suggested it may have been used to write about the game Bridge.
It's definitely a looker, and a wonderful machine to type on. The geared typebar system gives it a fun and very smooth touch.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti MP1 Ico on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti MP1 Ico By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
