A nice Envoy that came down the line very near the end of production in roughly Oct or Nov of 1942. But wait, I thought there weren't any typewriters made during the war? Last machine manufactured #S1,224,731 (Ilion Letter 12/15/42) from the DB main page. See the image with more detail. They produced maybe 20k in the last month to month and a half. You can find ads for these into early 43.
So there was an OPA exclusion for public sale of 'stripped down' machines well after the war was underway.
This example was super clean. The rubber is nicer than any other Remington portable from this period I've seen. Not only is it not flat, it is still supple. The only issue was the left side carriage pivot was loose and the lock screw was missing. This threw me off for a bit trying to dail in the motion.
