Seems fitting to post this one first, since this was my favorite typewriter when I was young. I inherited it from my grandpa. I remember being very pleased with the way the numbers looked, because before receiving this one I used an Underwood 3 (?) with the "old-school" typical Underwood typeface. I recently cleaned it up, flushed out the segment and got it working better (the accumulated dust really is a thing)... and gave it brand new feet. :)

When I was about 10 or 11 until I left home at 18, I had a collection of typewriters. I had about 10 of them, including one I still own (a 1941 Underwood S owned by my grandfather). About a year ago I found some of the things I created using those typewriters, and it rekindled a long dormant interest.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood S on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood S By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
