This is a 1941 Underwood S. This is the first typewriter that I ever cleaned and repaired. It is a very nice workhorse, and feels very durable. This is supposedly a WW2 vet, as the person I bought it from claimed that her family bought it postwar government surplus for her and her sister to learn to type.
