Description:
This was the first typewriter I ever acquired! My aunt bought it for me (presumably in North Carolina, USA), and her friend turned it into a lamp by running wires through it. It appears to be in excellent condition as a typewriter, though the lamp function no longer works. Acquired in 2017.

Hello! I am a college student majoring in History and English, with minors in GWST, Classical Studies, Leadership & Service, and Public History. I work as the Student Assistant of the Department of Museums, Archives, and Rare Books at my university. I intend to pursue a career in rare book curation and education reform. My big, unrealistic dream is to own and curate a museum... galleries would include typewriters, rare books, book art, etc. It would also include a private research library (open to the public). Unrealistic, of course... and very, very, very expensive... but still the dream.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal KMM on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal KMM By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
