Description:
Remington Rand debuted the Streamliner in February of 1941. It was priced at $49.50 and only available through dealers. Early models feature the Streamliner logo with stylized "gust of wind" lines. By summer the "gust of wind" was gone leaving just the name. By December 1941 America was at war and Remington Rand (like many companies) focused production to the war effort. Remington Rand began manufacturing M1911 pistols. By April 1942 the Streamliner was shelved. It returned in the 1950's but as a plastic typewriter.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Streamliner on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Streamliner By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
