Description:
With case and original spools. 12cpi type. This is the second typewriter I bought and my first rehab project. I found it on display in an antique mall with a sheet of paper rolled in crooked with some random typing. Several key slugs were jammed together and I felt it needed rescue. I offered 70% of asking price and got an immediate yes. I should have offered 50%. It cleaned up well and only one key bar needed reforming as it turned out. The rubber was shot and the feed rollers flat-spotted. I had them recovered and it now types very well. It alternates with a Hermès Rocket as a vacation typer. There is a remnant of typewriter shop label at the right of paper table.

I am a retired photojournalist who started in newspapering in the era of Underwoods and Royals, survived through Selectrics and Atex dumb terminals to finish in Macs and PC's.
I've always enjoyed the mechanical side of the business and became interested in typewriters after retirement. I have a small collection of machines and my focus is figuring them out and getting them in working order. I have learned a lot from the Typewriter Database and hope to contribute to the project.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Envoy on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Envoy By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
