1940 Remington Remette Serial # CR241391 1940 Remington Remette typewriter, Serial # CR241391 tom hitt's 1940 Remington Remette typewriter. 2026-11-01 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of tom hitt: 1940 Remington Remette Serial # CR241391 This is the first Remington in my collection. This model seems to be besmirched by many collectors, but what draws me to it is the design. I like the look of the fanned type bars across the top. I got this one in very fine condition, though it does need additional cleaning.

Nov. 13, 2016 - Broke this critter out today for a little clickity clack in purple. It does not disappoint.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Remette on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Remette By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
