Description:
The famous Torpedo 18b (with tabulator) in the very rare color combination silver and black. It was stored in a basement and the case was unsavable decomposed because of the moisture. The machine was dirty and the mechanics didn't work at all. I brought it back to life but it still has an issue with bad feed rollers. At last I am glad that I could save it ...

Actually working with computers in my professional life I take the old mechanics as a compensation. I prefer machines manufactured before WWII, but I don't despise beautiful and good working typewriters from the fifties and sixties like e.g. the Olympia Splendid.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Torpedo 18b on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Torpedo Serial Number page and the Torpedo 18b By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
