Description:
I bought it at a flea market, it was covered in dirt, grime and the keys were all gummed up - but since then it has been restored to full working condition.
I had to change all of the cardboard keys because many of them just disintegrated and the plastic on top of them was in many places cracked and badly yellowed (after cleaning and polishing just one of the non-fractured ones for 20 minutes straight with no results, I just decided to replace them - it wasn't worth the effort)
The only thing I need to fix now is to adjust the type height on the keys where they meet the ribbon but I will take care of that some other time.
This particular one was made in mid- March 1938. and was probably shipped and sold in Croatia at the beginning of WWII in Zagreb which was at that time a part of Yugoslavia, hence its Croatian keyboard.

I'm younger than most typewriter collectors on this site at just 19 years old, but I know my way around typewriters pretty well. I think I am one of the very few people who know how to repair and restore various typewriter models in Croatia. My passion is to restore any typewriter I receive to full working condition.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington 30 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington 30 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
