1938 Corona Zephyr Serial # 1Z-13593 1938 Corona Zephyr typewriter, Serial # 1Z-13593 Uwe Wachtendorf's 1938 Corona Zephyr typewriter. 2019-02-04 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Uwe Wachtendorf: 1938 Corona Zephyr Serial # 1Z-13593 At the moment it's my favorite little clacker, but that won't last because I'm fickle that way. The Zephyr creates a very unique sound track that is very pleasing to hear. And it types well too. All of this despite the fact this example is need of some much needed TLC, in part because it's put a lot of miles under its belt. Originally sold in the Boston area, it somehow ended up in California, and now resides in Toronto.

This first production year machine was a precursor to the Skyriter, and you can see many of the features that were carried over from the Zephyr to those first 2Y models. Overall a very nice machine and a must-have if you're a Skyriter fan.
