Description:
The boxy Monarch Pioneer is a less elegant version of the Remington 3B, but nearly identical mechanically. Both the MP and the 3B were sold as economy models during the Great Depression.
In 1936, the 3B sold for $34.50. In 1939, the MP sold for $14.60.
The Monarch Pioneer was briefly in my collection. The 3B, with fiber case, remains.
