Description:
This is the "machine of the German mechanic". But there is nothing to do for him on this typewriter, it just works.
Huge standard in a very good condition. It's a pleasure typing on it and I love the display windows. Special feature: you can preselect the calendar date on the left side of the chassis.
P.S.: I am not absolutely sure about the year of manufacture. I took the S/N from the Olympia 8, which seems to be almost the same model with a different design.

Actually working with computers in my professional life I take the old mechanics as a compensation. I prefer machines manufactured before WWII, but I don't despise beautiful and good working typewriters from the fifties and sixties like e.g. the Olympia Splendid.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the DM 1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the DM Serial Number page and the DM 1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
