Description:
There is a category for Underwood Fs, but not for Underwood Es, so I figure I'll make one. There are some "E"s in the listings for Portable Four Banks, but the E isn't remotely like the Four Bank Portable. It has no tabulator, one margin stop, no ribbon selector, no backspace, and no bell. It also sports the spool rings, rather than spool caps. This seems more like a transition model to either the "Student" or later "Ace," in terms of budget models.
This one was purchased from a fellow typewriter enthusiast in New Hope, PA in July of 2025.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood E on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood E By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
