Description:
It is in as near to mint condition of any machine I've ever found in the wild. I got this glorious 1935 Underwood 4 in Limerick, Pennsylvania (hence the nuclear power plant) in May of 2019. The seller posted it for $10, and didn't think it was even worth that. I didn't keep it long. In gratitude for helping to proofread and edit my book manuscript, I brought my editor/friend to my office and told him he could have any machine he wanted. This is the one he picked. Can you blame him?

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood Universal on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood Universal By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
