Description:
Brought to me by a friend because he no longer uses it. He jettisoned the mildewed case but the typewriter shows no sign of problems. The type sample is with the ribbon that was in the machine. Itâs very nice and the typebarsâ huge arc is mesmerizing.
The red PAR key indicates âparagraphâ and it indents the writing line 5 spaces from where ever the carriage is at the time---usually used for indenting when starting a new paragraph. There is no other Tab on this machine, though the Par can be used multiple times as a sort of âspeed spacerâ. The next year Remington renamed this the famous âSelf Starterâ key.

While I find all of mankind's inventions interesting, I am most enchanted by the human-scale arts and devices, the ones that can be created (and repaired) in a home workshop or studio; the ones that can be understood by looking at them; the ones that do something useful or stir admiration. Typewriters work for me.
