Description:
This might be one of the rarest machines I have scored at a local antique shop. A two tone Model 1! You don't even see the Model 1, aka "Noisy Noiseless", that often in black. I had heard it was a marketing flop somewhere, but stand corrected that they made and sold quite a few of the Noisy Noiselesses. I have never been wildly impressed with how these machines perform but this is nicer than the other I owned or any of the several I passed on at antique shops. I have always thought these had a very appealing shape, with the raked top piece and such. It looks even better in old school funky colors.
I have been told that any Remington could be custom ordered in any of the colors the factory had, so it is possible (though I figure unlikely) that this machine is unique.
Traded for a Mignon #4 with Frakturschrift shuttle.
