Description:
It has French keys. Not QWERTY but AZERTY. I bough this the other day at an online auction here in Japan for 5,000 yen. Apparently, the seller drenched this in some kind of fragrant oil without first vacuuming all the dust and cobwebs and whatnots. Nevertheless, it works really well.
By the way, I had a hard time looking for its serial number. Finally found it hidden on the right side beneath the keys.

I'm an archaeologist who writes heritage books and collects Japanese ceramics as well as quite a number of typewriters that I've acquired through purchase or as gifts over the last 10 years in the Philippines as well as in the US and Japan.
I'm currently a visiting professor at a university in Japan and it is heaven here to see so many typewriters being auctioned online!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington 3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington 3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
