During the Great Depression many companies struggled to stay afloat, Remington combated that with this. The Remington Remie Scout is the most stripped down typewriter I have ever seen, theres no bell, no margins, no color selector, no shift button, thats right, this is an all CAPS typewriter, actually it may be faster to list all the features it has rather then all it doesn't have. It has... A paper pan release, two line spacer options and its case and thats about it. This typewriter was sold for under $20 original with the lowest price being around $14 or so, with inflation thats about $400 which is pennys compared to the normal typewriters from that era, $60 on average. But with all that said, how dose it type... Actually pretty well, they didn't skimp out on the internal mechanisms.
Something interesting about this particular machine is it's case. When I got it the case was falling apart but luckily I was able to fix it, the straps however are original and quite odd, im glad it has something to hold the machine in its case but I've never seen that accomplished with basically a typewriter belt. All in all, 7/10.
