Description:
SGW acquisition. I'm not sure what this poor machine's been through, but look at that knob! This is the only typewriter I've seen with rubber platen knobs and I think I know why now. This machine greatly resembles an Underwood. It'll need a lot of work, stripdown to get all the dirt and grime out and polish up metal, but it should be a fun challenge. Wonder if I can find knobs from another brand that would work here... or maybe some rubber toy tires. :D

New collector with a penchant for offbeat models/brands and, conversely, the mundane models many overlook, if I have a personal connection or just find them interesting. Finding that collecting typewriters is like eating potato chips, you can't have just one! Also restorer of mechanical calcs, Vintage audio, and vintage computers.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Burroughs 50 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Burroughs Serial Number page and the Burroughs 50 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
