Actually working with computers in my professional life I take the old mechanics as a compensation. I prefer machines manufactured before WWII, but I don't despise beautiful and good working typewriters from the fifties and sixties like e.g. the Olympia Splendid.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Adler Standard on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Adler Serial Number page and the Adler Standard By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
