Description:
See that the ribbon vibrator is different than on later models. This is also the case on the 1932 Remington Noiseless Portable #N20952, the 1931 Smith Premier Noiseless #N17837, the 1932 Underwood Noiseless Portable #542225, and the 1932 Underwood Noiseless Portable #543217 found here in the database. The 1932 Underwood Noiseless Portable #576522 found here in the database has the later ribbon vibrator but without the glass keys making it a kind of hybrid model. Saw this on ebay December 12, 2018.

I have resuscitated three Remington Noiseless Portables all of which I use often. There are two 1933's and one 1937. I live in the New York City area. I visited the Typewriter Museum in Milan, Italy in 2018 and saw many machines I'd never seen in person before and now have new understanding of the different sizes of the machines. I enjoy typewriter hunting and use TWDB as a reference. I am "noahwrote" on http://typewriter.boardhost.com.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Noiseless Portable on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Noiseless Portable By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
