Description:
The Royal 10 may be one of the more crowded listings on the Database, but here's another one.
This may have needed a little work when I got it. The seller had shoved it loose in the box without tying down the carriage and then dropped some loose parts in the carton with some crumpled newspaper.. The carriage slid all the way to the end and the whole typewriter banged around in transit.
But apparently, Royal built them tough in those days. The paper table was bent, but the rest of the machine survived the abuse. I had everything up and running soon enough. She turned into a real sweet typer.
The only weakness I've found is that she's too old to have Shift Freedom, but the carriage is well balanced and the shift isn't too heavy.

Someone gave me a vintage typewriter and I went maybe just a little bit crazy.
A dozen typewriters later, I think I found the machines I need.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal 10 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal 10 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
