Description:
The paint on the front facing metal was very fragile and prone to handling damage so I decided to store it for safekeeping. A wooden piece painted black was made to keep the key levers in place. This allows the interesting mechanisms to be seen with full operation. A base/ display case was made from a surplus cabinet door and plexi.

As a youth in the mid '70s I sometimes purchased old manual typewriters for a buck or two at thrift stores, fixed them up, and donated them back to the same thrift store. My interest in typewriters was rekindled during covid when I discovered a Royal Model P in a resale store. I work on typewriters during the cold winter months.
