Description:
Apparently, some 80,000 of these were manufactured in the 1920s, and sold throughout the world. Several listings can be found at mercadolibre.com.ar. Most advertisements I've found were placed in South America, though this machine was sold world-wide. "MW" equals Montgomery Wards? Not sure.
Gundka typewriters were sold as G&K, the Frolio, Scripta, Perlita, Write-Easy, M-W and Gefro. That one of these names is in English suggests an American or British market for the Gundka too.
My MW is in nice condition, but creating a typeface specimen was challenging.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Gundka MW on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Gundka Serial Number page and the Gundka MW By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
