Description:
This machine was found at a flea market where it did not work and I assumed it would be priced ridiculously. I was surprised to find, however, that the seller only wanted $5 for it!
It was one of those moments where I couldn't get the money out fast enough!
Once home, I found that the tabulator mechanism was bent and once it was unbent, the machine came to life! So I gave it a cleaning and it works pretty well.
However, I have found that the Noiseless mechanism has fallen out of favor with me. I used to like the action of these machines.
This machine probably won't be with me long, but it was nice to make it work again.
Left the collection on 7/18/2017 - went to a collector who informed me that this is now the oldest machine in his collection.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Noiseless 6 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Noiseless 6 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
