Description:
I bought this 1929 Corona 4--University of Wisconsin edition--from fellow collector Herman Price in Morgantown, WV in May of 2024, along with a Georgetown one, as I got my MA from Georgetown and another MA and Ph.D. from Wisconsin. The UW machine was in rather rough shape. Someone tried to re-tie a busted drawstring BEHIND the escapement, and there was a rather large metal washer jammed vertically in the ribbon vibrator, as well as missing a tooth in the segment. I cleaned it up as best as I could, replaced the drawband and made other repairs. Now it types reasonably well... for a Corona 4.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Corona 4 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Corona Serial Number page and the Corona 4 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
