Established in 1924, Amtorg was effectively the import/export monopoly of the new Soviet government. When I saw this was available in Washington, DC in January 2023, I immediately made the 3 hour drive each way to get it. The seller did not seem to have any linkage to its history, only to say his uncle liked to collect "unusual things," and this was one of them.

Here's a unique 1927 Underwood 46T in Russian, with a unique Amtorg decal, as well as original base and lid. Established in 1924, Amtorg was effectively the import/export monopoly of the new Soviet government.
