Description:
Machine purchased online on July 18, 2026.
It has an AZERTY keyboard, with the piastre symbol “PT” above the number “7,” as well as the Egyptian pound symbol “£e” above the “&” sign. Since the Egyptian government uses the Latin alphabet, this machine is undoubtedly related to Egypt.
“é” is the only accented character available. A key with the grave and circumflex accents must be used for all other accented characters.
The font is PICA (10 cpi).

Taking apart, examining, and restoring objects from the early 20th century—such as small clocks, calculators, typewriters, and radios—is a great pleasure for me.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Portable 2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Portable 2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
