Description:
Remington Portable 2, manufactured in Toronto, Canada, but sold in Norway. Unknown whether the factory made it ready made with the Norwegian character slugs, or if a retailer here swapped them later, but my guess is the latter, as they are kind of weirdly placed. Seller originally posted it as "I think it's a typewriter, but I can't get the lid open", so I bought it unseen as a "loot box" with a secret content. We could be fairly sure it was going to be a Remington Portable however, as the case matched that design. Upon meeting the seller he was going to demonstrate how the lock didn't open, but when he did the lid just suddenly flung off to the seller's huge surprise to the point that he nearly dropped everything.

I am a Norwegian fellow who enjoys tinkering and fixing up typewriters. One day I decided I wanted a typewriter to write letters on. I bought one that turned out not to work. I got annoyed and decided I should be able to figure out what was wrong and fix it. I did it, but the rush of successfully mending such an intricate machine was like a drug. I wanted more. I decided I would try to buy non-functioning, but pretty machines, fix them and sell them before repeating the process. What I didn't expect was that I would fall in love with the machines I fix so now I suddenly find myself a bit of a collector.
