Description:
An early Noiseless 6 model. A rather large and almost all metal desktop typewriter, but I loved the feel of the keys on the Noiseless 7 and wanted to find an early working condition 6.
It certainly isn't noiseless, but after typing on an Underwood No.5 for a couple of minutes, it seems noiseless in comparison.
It is also a joy to type on, the keys have a unique feel to them. Very light, but also responsive. The only downside is a somewhat heavy carriage shift.

A writer and beginner collector/restorer of typewriters. I'd always written a few pages a day, been sort of a habit for a number of years now, and I saw a few typewriters in movies and loved the sound they made, so I decided to buy one to see what it was like.
Ended up with a Olivetti Lettera 22, and after writing about a hundred pages with it, I was hooked.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Noiseless 6 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Noiseless 6 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
