A disreputable Eastern European sold this to me as a "working" machine, and I might wish the pillory still an option. (Missing many parts, with the carriage not advancing) Ha! I fooled him, because I only wanted this as a sacrificial machine, needing only the escapement to complete another No.3 of infinitely more beauty. I knew he was a trickster, and I tricked the trickster.

Call me Papa. Some time ago, never mind how long precisely, I decided to buy a typewriter. I think it was a Royal, but as way led on to way, it got away from me. I got older.
Now, I am but an humble collector of archaic writing machines. Rather than indiscriminately gathering them hither and thither, I painstakingly choose the next one, and all are used for epistolary endeavors.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Erika 3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Erika Serial Number page and the Erika 3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
