Description:
Bought this as it was cheep. I only wanted the oiler and brush. Had a quick test type to see if it did work and it turned out that it did work and was italic, which was a surprise. It needs new feet which i will get around to investing in. They are surprisingly fun to type on but i will be sending this off for a service. The typewriter is 1925, the manual is 1929 dated for a Corona special with the US Navy stamp on it and the case has a date stamp of 1939 and also a US Navy stamp on it. Nothing unusual on the typewriter only that it has an Italic typeface.

I picked up a couple of typewriters for display and use for the public at events where a police station is set up. The few i have are all Imperial Good Companions. Learnt to type on a manual typewriter, then on an electric one while in comprehensive but have completly forgotten how to touch type. Although pecking at the keys is more in keeping with a station.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Corona 3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Corona Serial Number page and the Corona 3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
