Description:
I have no idea how I ended up with three Remington Portables but this is the only working one. It's got a German keyboard and is occasionally a bit sluggish and wonky, but at the age of 91 years it is a true senior citizen so I'm happy to cut it a bit of slack.
The keys are two colours and once I took a really attractive photograph that captures their look really well. Of course, I've never been able to replicate that photo since...
The lid of the case doesn't fit properly; it seems to be a different size and shape entirely compared to the base. Also, the certificate of sale on the inside also lists a different serial number that dates to 1927. I wonder if the original lid was lost and someone procured the current one as a replacement?
Sold May 2019.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Portable on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Portable By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
