Description:
This machine was repainted and given new key tops, presumably in the 1920s or 1930s. The color scheme (grey/drab-green body and green key tops) appears on a number of No. 1s.
Advertisements for rebuilt Remington portables appear as early as 1923. These machines were "rebuilt and remanufactured" from the ground up, which means some portables may not have entirely original parts.
The Remington decal on the paper table seems to date the repainting to about the 1930s.
