1920 Remington Portable Serial # NC00062 1920 Remington Portable typewriter, Serial # NC00062 F N's 1920 Remington Portable typewriter. 2026-08-24 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of F N: 1920 Remington Portable Serial # NC00062 Bought this one in the beginning of 2021 from ebay.com (Boston). This is the earliest known Remington portable as far as I know. Before I found this one, I owned NC00099 and wrote an article about it on Etcetera number 118. I sold NC00099 in 2018. I almost instantly regretted it and couldn't believe my luck when I saw NC00062 in 2021 on ebay. I immediately purchased it.
The night after NC00062 arrived safely in the Netherlands, I put it high on the shelf so it would be safe from my children. That night, while we were sleeping, the shelf came down and the typewriter was bent and broken. My brother kind of fixed it for me. It is in working condition, but not very smooth.
The case has an aluminium lit, which is (I think) unique.

Bought this one in the beginning of 2021 from ebay.com (Boston). This is the earliest known Remington portable as far as I know.
