Description:
An Adler 17 thrust action typewriter manufactured in 1920 with bilingual Greek/French keyboard. Big and heavy, a very impressive machine that works nicely. My only "problem" is that I cannot understand how to switch the keyboard between the two languages - or maybe some control is not properly functioning. Unfortunately I cannot find any user manual to help me on that for now. It is the first time that I get to use a thrust typing mechanism, I am really impressed by the engineering. The last six pictures show the machine as I found it, before any cleaning.

Writer and blogger from Athens, Greece. I own a small collection of typewriters, most of my machines are functional and I try to repair any with problems that keeps it from typing. For me, it is important for a typewriter not just to sit on a shelve for display, but to be able to type when I want to. On the links below you will find my blogs and social media profiles. Feel free to follow me and get in touch if you want. I am always happy to communicate :)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Adler 17 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Adler Serial Number page and the Adler 17 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
