Description:
This is one project that, if you like cracking 100+ year old screws and nuts, will leave your hands hurting. I made one ok working unit out of two non-working No.9's (barely). Thankfully the aftermarket has replacement feet, draw cord, and ribbons. The Oliver has a serial number on the body and again on the carriage rail that match each other. Update 8/20/2022- sold this machine, along with three others, to a couple from Illinois.

After finding a Smith-Corona Coronet 12 at a curb-side (in Winter while walking the dog) I carried it home; after it thawed out and started coming back to life I was hooked. My interest in this hobby lead to taking two parts typewriters to create one good unit. This typewriter aliment is (pretty much) in-curable!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Oliver 9 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Oliver Serial Number page and the Oliver 9 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
