Description:
#1117. This is the ninth Oliver in my collection. It is a sad rescue. It is extremely dirty. The carriage was off when it arrived. The main belt is off (string). I think it can be brought back to life, with some battle scars (like the type guide is broken and cannot be repaired without a replacement). I could not let an Oliver suffer in this condition.

I started my collection back in 2017 when I found a 1993 Brother WP-1250, which was very close to the typewriter I owned and used to write letters home while I was stationed in Korea serving in the US Air Force (I later discovered it was most likely the Brother WP-1150, so I picked that up). In 2018, my wife took me to one of the local antique store and I saw an old typewriter that caught my eye. My wife purchased it for me for Christmas (a 1932 Royal 10). My wife and I decided to limit my collection to 5 typewriters, so I need to sell off my surplus.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Oliver 9 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Oliver Serial Number page and the Oliver 9 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
