1914 Remington 10 Serial # RL89080 1914 Remington 10 typewriter, Serial # RL89080 Jer Wal's 1914 Remington 10 typewriter. 2016-03-20 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Jer Wal: 1914 Remington 10 Serial # RL89080 My best guess is Mar 1914 based on the "RL" prefix, but Remington numbering at this time looks pretty arcane. It has a right-side CR handle, center shaft type slugs. Type bars are in two staggered banks. It has the five "tab" keys on the keyboard. Ribbon spools are underneath with ribbon feeding through holes in the top.
I paid the guy $10 for both this Remington and the KMM next to it. Starting to restore it, if I can, in Feb 2016.

The Remington Standard 10 is on the left in this pic. It is filled with leaves and other barnyard debris.

This shows the center shank type slugs and also the two staggered banks of type bars.

I'm oiling it up and getting the debris out, and I've got the carriage moving and the platen turning. (19 Feb 2016)

Update: 20 Mar 2016 - I got the carriage off, the tab assembly off, the upper escapement off, and the lower escapement with the spring drum assembly off now. My aim is to get the type bars removed and cleaned, but I may have to completely take the segment out to do that (a major, almost complete, disassembly). I removed one typebar as a trial. The entire lower row is inaccessible right now.

The pounding typebar, having writ, moves on... unless there's a ding.
