Description:
I had long wanted an Emerson 3, so I jumped at the opportunity to get this one from Bob Aubert's collection of Delran, NJ back in August of 2023. A low priority, it sat on the workbench for ages, as I discovered more and more things gone wrong on it: cracked frame, cracked iron typebar cover, drawband, missing "A" slug, etc. etc. It took forever just to get it where it could put out a rudimentary type sample, and even then, not without a lot of coaxing. Fascinating machine to look at, all the same.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Emerson 3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Emerson Serial Number page and the Emerson 3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
