1913 Corona 3 Serial # 35309 1913 Corona 3 typewriter, Serial # 35309 Erik Bruchez's 1913 Corona 3 typewriter. 2024-03-26 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Erik Bruchez: 1913 Corona 3 Serial # 35309 This is a good condition Corona 3. It's one of the earlier models without a segment. Based on pictures on TWDB, the segment was introduced in 1914, so only the 1912 and 1913 models didn't have a segment.

The escapement didn't trigger originally but that was luckily an easy to fix problem.

The big Corona decal in the front, as well as the decal on the paper table, are in wonderful condition!

- 2024-03-17: Cleaning done. Machine has a new platen. Typeface sample. The black color works pretty well, while the red is a little smudgy.
- 2024-03-26: Added new pictures after cleaning/restoration.

I started collecting my first pre-WW2 standard typewriters in 2017. Since then I have added a few machines to my collection, which now ranges from the 1880s to the 1980s. As of 2024, I have more big standard (desktop) typewriters than portables, a few standard electrics, and some unusual machines like Varitypers, uncommon IBM machines, and more. I am not a pro restorer, but I have restored a few of my machines beyond simple cleaning.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Corona 3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Corona Serial Number page and the Corona 3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
