Description:
I got this 1911 Royal 1 from a seller in Ambler, PA, along with a Royal 10 and a Smith-Corona Standard "flattop" in May of 2021. The seller said it was in her grandfather's insurance business in North Wales, PA since the 1800s... which is impossible as it is a 1911 machine, but let's just say she thought it was very, very old. The decals were in great shape, the rest needed quite a bit of help: a thorough cleaning, new rubber "shoes" and bale rollers, and it is back to typing like a champ!

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal 1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal 1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
