Description:
I got this Hammond around 2012. It is a very unique typewriter.
Update - 12/13/2016 - I decided to pull the ole Hammond out of its case today and use it a little bit and fix the impression strip. I had forgotten how quick it is, especially being as old as it is!
I was looking at the serial numbers from the database's charts and think that my machine is from somewhere between 1898 and 1908.
Left the collection on 5/11/2018.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hammond 2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hammond Serial Number page and the Hammond 2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
